As my children and loved ones buzz around me as we kick off this very special weekend, I take time to reflect on what being a mother means to me.
Everyone who knows me knows that I take MOMMYing very seriously. I measure my success as a woman by how well my children are.
What guides my mothering is their humanity. Are they WHOLE people? What is the condition of their soul? At the end of the day, those are my only concerns.
I never wanted to raise just OK children. That “they will be okay” approach never worked for me.
They have to be healthy, whole, solid, secure. Caring, productive and righteous. Fulfilling their purpose, walking in their destiny is the only thing that is acceptable. No plan B’s. Only their plan A.
My fervent and effectual prayer is that LOVE continues to be a fence, a force, a light. Darkness continues to be expelled and we continue to be who we are for each other and those we touch.
I am blessed beyond measure. God really did something when he gave me Evan and Hannah. I do not deserve them but Grace gave them to me anyway. They have taught me more than I could ever teach them. They are my hearts beat.
Forever in love with Mommying.
