I knew his was a big brand of bitch when he talked about the size of a woman’s arm that was hanging out of a window as we sat in the drive thru
I knew he was a sad soul when he compared it to a hamhock
I recall the horror that rose in my spirit as I did damage control
Our daughter sat in the back seat and her father was laughing at a woman who he was comparing to a piece of meat
She had never heard such from me
And this was supposed to be a warrior leading
It was then I am sure
My soul began planning it’s exit
Because I had been deceived by his silver tongue and eagerness to feast
But my soul knew better
It cannot be seduced by what pleases the flesh
And today I thank God for that
God saw what I could not see
Once again, HE saved me.
